Giving Back

We believe in giving back to the community that supports us. We do this in four ways: by offering occasional free informational seminars to the community, through involvement in community service organizations, by offering pro bono legal assistance, and through charitable giving.

Community Service

Firm partners Sherry and Dan are involved in a variety of community service work. Both Dan and Sherry are active in their neighborhood association, Lake Claire Neighbors (LCN), and volunteer with a variety of neighborhood improvement projects. Dan served as the vice president for public safety for LCN for two years while Sherry currently serves as coordinator of the Lake Claire Parents group and is a newsletter delivery volunteer. Outside the neighborhood association, Dan is active in his alma mater’s alumni association and has served on the Board of that organization for several years. Sherry serves as Chair of the Mary Lin Education Foundation, which works with the neighborhood elementary school to achieve its educational goals by providing instructional, physical, and technological opportunities for the enrichment of Mary Lin students, and is regularly seen in the school’s Media Center, assisting students with finding and checking out books, recovering and repairing books, and generally living out her childhood dream of being a librarian.

Pro Bono Service

Rule 6.1 of the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct provides that “[a] lawyer should aspire to render at least (50) hours of pro bono publico legal services per year.” The firm renders pro bono legal services to a variety of non-profit organizations and other clients, both independently and through organizations like the Atlanta Legal Aid Society and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.
