Neal & Wright LLC offers periodic informational seminars on a variety of legal topics. We hold all seminars at our office on Saturday mornings from 10 until approximately noon and provide free coffee and food, usually either donuts or biscuits from Flying Biscuit. No RSVP is required, but it is nice to hear from those who plan to attend so we can make sure to have enough food and coffee! Please note that dates are tentative and subject to change. Please check back periodically for more information and new seminar dates.
Previous seminars have included the following topics:
• Big Issues for Small Businesses
In March 2012, Dan Wright led a seminar about issues that small businesses (and larger ones) routinely face, including ownership strategies, entity selection, buy-sell agreements, leases, and other topics.
• Why Every Parent Needs An Estate Plan
On March 5, 2011, Dan Wright led a seminar about wills and estate planning with a special focus on how parents can use wills and trusts to protect and provide for their children. We also discussed estate planning generally; it was one of our most well-attended seminars to-date! We may bring it back in late 2012, so stay tuned!
• Adoption Options
In celebration of National Adoption Month (November), Sherry V. Neal will often conduct a seminar where she reviews the legal and practical aspects of adoption in Georgia, including the kinds of adoptions available, working with adoption agencies, financial considerations, and the legal process. See our informational brochure for more information. Also, please see the previously published article for a quick summary of the topic.
• Legalese Explained
On September 18, 2010, we presented a seminar relating to "legalese": confusing legal language and terms. Dan Wright discussed mysterious legal vagaries and crypic phrases in the historical context of the law. Please see our short article on the subject (skip to page 5).
• Trademarks, Trade names, and Copyrights
On March 6, 2010, we reviewed various kinds of intellectual property, including trademarks, service marks, trade names, and copyrights.
