Giving Back to the Community
We believe in giving back to the community that supports us. We do this in four ways: by offering free informational seminars to the community, through involvement in community service organizations, by offering pro bono legal assistance, and through charitable giving.
Community Service
Sherry and Dan are involved in a variety of community service work. Sherry is a past President and active member of the Peachtree Atlanta Kiwanis Club, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Check them out at www.peachtreekiwanis.org. Dan and Sherry both are active with a new community service group, Koi – Creating Change Through Service. This group, consisting of young professionals in the Metro area, participates in a variety of volunteer events throughout the year. In addition, both Dan and Sherry are active in their neighborhood association, Lake Claire Neighbors (LCN), and volunteer with a variety of neighborhood improvement projects. Dan served as the vice president for public safety for LCN for two years. Dan is also active in his alma mater’s alumni society.
Pro Bono Service
Rule 6.1 of the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct provides that “[a] lawyer should aspire to render at least (50) hours of pro bono publico legal services per year.” Sherry and Dan render pro bono legal services to a variety of non-profit organizations and other clients, both independently and through organizations like the Atlanta Legal Aid Society and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.
